Blogger Task - Ordered Chaos

I initially thought this projects would be really challenging with the opposite starting point but  as i looked into my ideas from my thought shower i realised how interesting the project could become from this. I have had a number of ideas during this project and they keep changing as the projects developed and as i have researched more.I think in a project i need to look more into my initial ideas to see if they can be developed and researched enough to last a whole project and make sure my starting point has many ways to lead my ideas. My starting point was order and chaos and from this i did two thought showers things i felt related to order and things i felt related to chaos, but instead of choosing one thing from each of these ideas i choose to combine the two opposite words and make my project into a controlled chaos. I then did another thought shower and came up with the idea of weather i felt this was a good staring point as there is a lot that can come from weather and be related to it i see it as been controlled by years, seasons and weeks but you never know whats going happen until it does with weather and this is when it begins to cause chaos. I initially looked at seasons and used the gouache paints to look at colour pallets from each seasons but when in my digital workshop i began to look at satellite views of weather, i found these really interesting and so choose to research into these more to help me with the digital images i was creating i especially liked the satellite views of hurricanes and found these really interesting . My project has now swayed in another direction which i find is a lot more interesting i like how weather changes things and so am now looking at weathering i have took a lot of photos of relating to this idea i now have a strong colour pallet and lots of ideas for samples i feel that in my next workshop knit i will have a lot of strong samples, i have also buried some fabrics and left some hung on a washing line outside to see how the weather changes them. Initially i didn't want to do digital and was unhappy but have now found it really interesting especially for my initial ideas in my project i felt i could link the two well whereas now my ideas have developed and i feel that my next workshop which is knit will be more suitable for my ideas that i have now developed and have a lot of ideas for sampling with this. I find primary research is essential when starting any project it gives you a colour pallet and drawing ideas at an early stage to give your project a strong starting point and helps you then develop ideas further. If i was to start this project again i would think of more initial ideas to give my project more of a flow because at the moment my ideas have changed quite a lot because i can being influenced by the smallest thing to change my ideas the colour workshops have also helped me re think my ideas and i am now confident with the way my project is heading. A range of artists i have looked at have also helped me to think of other ways i could change my project to make it more interesting.
